Yeah, sure! Should I swing by your place?

If it's okay.

Then I'll be there in two shakes of a crow's tail!

All right. I'll see you soon.

[It doesn't take too long for Kay to pop up at Haru's place, and she's knocking with one hand, and clutching a bag of homemade double chocolate chocolate chip cookies in the other.]

[He answers, nodding at her in greeting and stepping aside to let her in. He eyes the bag curiously, but mostly he's just happy to see her.] Would you like some tea?

[She nods eagerly, and steps inside.]

Sure!

[He leads her to the kitchen, where there are two boxes on the table. One large, one small, both wrapped in white paper with little crows painted on them.

...He got new art supplies and got excited.]

The small one is for you. The other for your friends.

[He rummages around to start preparing the tea. The small package will hold a small hand-carved wooden crow on a simple chain. The other will be a carved perch for the crows, shaped like real branches.]

[Kay's eyes light up at the sight of the boxes. It doesn't bother her at all that the crows get the bigger box, because some of her friends thought of the crows more than her when buying her presents.]

Wow, even the wrapper is cute! [Because crows are cute.] Thank you so much! [She holds out the bag of cookies.] And this is for you.

Me?

[He takes the bag, sniffing it curiously. It smells absolutely heavenly.]

Thank you. You didn't have to.

But I wanted to. [She reaches out to gather up both boxes in her arms as well as she possibly can.] I hope you like them. [Kay nods toward the bag.]

[He opens it then nibbles on one- his eyes light up.]

I do. You made these?

[She beams.]

I sure did!

I like them. [A rare smile- for her and not her crows.] Thank you.

[Oh, wow. She feels absolutely flattered and accomplished.]

You're welcome!

[He finishes the cookie and reaches for another.]

You've been well?

[She nods.]

Mmm-hmm. I've just been delivering gifts. [Kay is not going to tell him that she tired herself out from baking and delivering gifts and nearly fell asleep in Edgeworth's doorway, of course.]

[One day Haru will know Kay enough to notice these things.]

I hope your friends like their gift.

[He blushes a little. While he could be warm-hearted and mean her other friends, he means her crows. Clearly the most important friends she must have.]

They will. They like getting gifts. [Especially since several of Kay's friends thought of them.]

I'm glad. I think about them often. [ Cause he's a nerd. ]

That's really sweet. [It's okay, she has friends who are nerds too.] If you want to see them, it's easy to find them these days, though.

[Well, for one thing, they have no official hero duty for now.]

They're not with you? [Well, he supposes that makes sense. He doesn't see them with her now, but he always just assumed they followed her around, that they were hovering around the house or something.]

Oh, they are. Just...spread out and doing their thing. [She gestures toward the window. The first tree visible within one's line of sight might just have one or two little black visitors.] It'd probably be too tiring for them to follow me around while I drop gifts off.

[He looks out the window, eyes sparkling when he sees them. Is that Kara? Ahhh he hopes it is.

He turns back to Kay.]

You must have others to get to.

[She nods, a little shyly, hesitantly.]

Yeah...I do. I better get going. [Kay can't quite wave, her hands are full of presents. Not that she's complaining.]
